Money, money, money...

Carolina is a student in 4th level. She asked about

- Why do Americans write the DOLLAR SIGN with an "S" if there isn't a letter 'S' in the word dollar?

There are different theories about that. You can read about them here.

- What about POUND?

Read something about it, in this page.

- Finally, the same question about EURO.

Euro is the European currency (money).
It was born in 1999 (the sign was born in 1996).
The euro is divided into 100 (a hundred) cents.
The coins are issued in €2, €1, 50c, 20c, 10c, 5c, 2c and 1c denominations.
Notes are issued in €500, €200, €100, €50, €20, €10, €5. Each banknote has its own colour.
