Money, money, money...
Carolina is a student in 4th level. She asked about
- Why do Americans write the DOLLAR SIGN with an "S" if there isn't a letter 'S' in the word dollar?

There are different theories about that. You can read about them here.
- What about POUND?

Read something about it, in this page.
- Finally, the same question about EURO.

Euro is the European currency (money).
It was born in 1999 (the sign was born in 1996).
The euro is divided into 100 (a hundred) cents.
The coins are issued in €2, €1, 50c, 20c, 10c, 5c, 2c and 1c denominations.
Notes are issued in €500, €200, €100, €50, €20, €10, €5. Each banknote has its own colour.

The letters, their names and the sound of the letters.
This is a new "song", to practice the name of the letters.
And you can see and listen to their sound.

This is a link to a page to make three ships.
And in this page, you can find more activities and information.
Some tips about Christopher Columbus.
His name is Chirstopher Columbus.
He was from Italy (or Spain).
He was a sailor.
He was famous because he was the first to land in America.
He was supported by Qeen Isabella and King Ferdinand of Spain.
This is another idea to do at home. You need markers, paper, toothpicks and expanded polystyrene.
